This site contains 1,600 primary sources documenting the history and culture of Latinos in Boulder County over the past century. The sources include hundreds of photos, 75 oral history interviews plus short clips from them, newspaper articles, family biographies, and information from U.S. Census and school census records. This material was gathered by nearly 100 volunteers and young interns in 2013-14, guided by a 15-person Advisory Committee composed mainly of Latino community leaders. The sources may be searched in a variety of ways: by family or place names, topics and key words, dates, and type of medium.
The Boulder County wing of the Latino History Project runs workshops for PreK-12 teachers and has prepared a separate website with valuable material for educators, including Primary Source Sets, Lesson Plans written by the participating teachers, and many other resources.
